I was reading an article on MSN last night entitled The Fattest Cities. Five of the top 10 heaviest cities were Texas cities!
The Heaviest Cities:
Ranking | City | State | Grade | |
1. | Corpus Christi | Texas | F | Where my family vacations every summer and has since I was a toddler. |
2. | Charleston | W.Va. | F | |
3. | El Paso | Texas | F | |
4. | Dallas | Texas | F | Where my extended family on my mom’s side lives. |
5. | Memphis | Tenn. | F | |
6. | Kansas City | Mo. | F | |
7. | San Antonio | Texas | F | Where I went to college. |
8. | Baltimore | Md. | F | |
9. | Houston | Texas | D- | Where I grew up. |
10. | Birmingham | Ala. | D- |
Every Texas city I have spent a significant amount of time in is on that list! At least my hometown got a D- instead of an F. And it makes sense that after Ben’s first trip to Texas, I asked him what his favorite thing about the vacation was and he said, “the food”! I guess everything really is bigger in Texas, including the appetites, portions, and bellies!
So I just realized you’re a blogger! Not that this is surprising but I had no idea and it was really fun to read your thoughts. Now as for this particular post…WTF! Isn’t this so sad?!? I’ve always been proud to be a Texans but today I shed a tear for my grand ole state. It’s a sad, sad day…
I’m glad you enjoyed it! It keeps my thoughts from staying all bottled up in my head! Yea, I guess we like to do everything up big in Texas, even our food. No wonder I lost so much weight when I moved to Virginia!
